Welcome to the official website for the Town of Hampden, Maine. 

We have recently changed the look of our website and we are working hard to make it easier to navigate and more user friendly.  The site will continually grow and expand to provide information about the current happenings and events within our community.


LATEST NEWS

CHANGES IN TRANSFER STATION OPERATION become effective April 30, 2008.  Click here to view the schedule and fees for disposal of items other than household trash, recyclables & swap shop items.

The Town Council will begin 2009 Budget workshops on Monday May 12th at 6:00 pm.  The public hearing to adopt the final budget will be held on Monday, June 16th.

Copies of the 2007 ANNUAL REPORT are available at the Town Office or can be viewed online by clicking here.

COMPOST BINS ARE IN - The compost bins, kitchen scrap pails and mixers are available for pickup at the Town Office for those who pre-ordered them.

START TALKING BEFORE THEY START DRINKING - A town hall meeting to discuss how to prevent underage drinking - May 15th at Reeds Brook Middle School.

The Town is looking for volunteers to participate in STREAM CLEAN-UP 2008 scheduled for May 17th from 8 am to 12 noon.

ANNUAL ROAD PAVING is scheduled for the month of May.  Lane Construction will begin paving several streets and roads on May 19th and continue until May 29th. 

The Edythe Library will be CLOSED on May 21 so that the road can be paved.

Local Residents to Walk in 2008 Boston Breast Cancer 3-Day to help raise funds to Fight Breast Cancer.

TREE BOARD APPLICANTS NEEDED - The Town Council recently adopted a Tree Ordinance which established a Tree Board.  The Town Council has appointed 4 members to date and is seeking applicants to fill the last position to on this five-member board.

The 29th Annual HAMPDEN CHILDREN'S DAY will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008.  Several fundraising events have been scheduled.  The Children's Day Committee meets the second Tuesday of every month at Edwards' Family Shop 'N Save and welcomes new members.
